Almgolf on the MarktlAlm
Golf has been a popular sport for many years. Nothing special about golfing outside, but how about golfing in the mountains! Swing away with your iron until you hit the slightly bigger golf ball into the hole. Try golf a different way, it will be fun for the whole family! You have the opportunity right here at our MarktlAlm at the Marktlkoepfl.
You can get to Almgolf starting from the Marktlhuette. Either follow the trail with yoga and relaxation exercises or choose the path that passes by the petting zoo. If you are a guest at the MarktlAlm, you can play for free. Everybody else pays 10 Euros/person, without Alm Butler Card (special card, given to guests of the MarktlAlm) or 7 Euros/person with Alm Butler Card. Our Almgolf features a 9-holes course.
Almgolf is played with a golf club and bigger balls. The golf clubs, balls and score cards can be rented for a small deposit. The winner is the person with the fewest swings. If you beat the lowest score, your name will be recorded on the board and you will be celebrated with a “Siegerschnaps” shot. After an exciting game join us on the sunny terrace of the MarktlAlm for a refreshing drink and some good company.
Walking, hiking and climbing
Hiking variety from easy family hikes to challenging summit experiences awaits you around the Turracher Höhe. Starting from the mountain plateau of the Turracher Höhe at around 1,800 m above sea level, you can hike in half-day or day tours to the surrounding peaks such as the 2,208 m high Schoberriegel or the 2,441 m high Eisenhut.
The Turracher 3-Lakes Trail leads you from the Turracher See, through which the Styrian-Carinthian border runs, over the idyllic Grünsee to the mystic Schwarzsee. The gentle forest paths make the trail hikeable for all ages and with a stop at the Karlhütte, the 3-lake trail can become a real pleasure tour.
The Schoberriegel could be the first destination for summit hikers - a medium-difficult and not too long tour that offers a wonderful panoramic view of the Turracher Höhe. With a walking time of 3 to 4 hours you can test your fitness here.
Demanding day tours to Königsstuhl or Eisenhut can also be a challenge for experienced mountain hikers. If you would like to go on such challenging tours with a companion, the Carpe-Diem tour with the Almbutler is a good tip. From June to the end of October he is on the road every Friday with the guests of the Turracher Höhe.
Further information about the hiking possibilities and the various tours can also be obtained from our MarktlAlm team. Here you can download a hiking map for your first ideas.
